Hotel Splendide is an affectionate series of vignettes recounting Bemelmans time at the Ritz Carlton during the 1920's - an utterly charming book that reflects the author's eye for an amusing anecdote or observation, while still maintaining a genuine sense of humanity. The collectible cloth cover, is a first edition and is bound in the draperies of a famous New York hotel. It is number 242 out of 245 special edition copies and is signed by the author.

Ludwig Bemelmans (April 27, 1898 - October 1, 1962) was an Austrian/American writer and illustrator of the celebrated Madeline series of children's books, as well as many adult novels.
