ANTIQUE PARCHMENT BOX, ONE-OF-A-KIND

Dating to the 1800's, the parchment box has enjoyed a life well-lived, which only adds to its charm. Judging from the merchants original label, which reads "John B. Baker, Saddler and Manufacturer, Army & Navy Equipments, No.12 Court Street Boston," the box was likely a small salesman's sample trunk. The antique brass nailhead decoration and lock, the well-worn leather handle (in an unexpected shade of pistachio green), and the marbleized papered interior are all original to the box.
