DECORATIVE PAINTED CLAY BOWLS

Our collection of painted bowls were created for domestic use in Pakistan and Afghanistan, reflecting the local simple style of living, but also a desire for decoration and color. These village pottery bowls are handmade and hand-painted and will generally have small chips in the glaze, caused by the bowls being stacked on wooden sticks inside the kiln to maximize use of space. These "imperfections" in production add to the intrinsic beauty of each piece.
