The form of these stoneware pitchers, sculpted by an artisan in Sri Lanka, is based on pieces from early twentieth century Belgian basin sets, found at a favorite market in Paris. The simplified classicism of each piece, expressed in facets and grand curves, conveys a modernist ethos, and their generous proportions give them presence while serving drinks, holding flowers, or standing proud on the mantel.
